Another one that needs a bit of work to make it flow.
I'm trying to think of a gift for you,
It's very important you see
It has to beautiful, precious and rare,
It has to be important to me.
I thought of gold and jewellery,
Diamonds, money and art,
But surely that do not compare at all
To the gift you gave me, your heart.
What if I offered you a house,
A grand place of your very own,
I'd be happy working my whole lifetime
I'd pay it, whatever the loan.
But that still isn't enough you see
It needs to be something I treasure,
A thought came to me as I said it
The life of a lady at leisure.
I'd love to see you smiling everyday
And never have doubts or fears,
But I wonder if you'd end up bored with it
And leisure to you isn't dear.
There is one gift I could offer you
A gift both right and true,
With nary a hesitation I'd offer it,
The gift I'd give would be you.
I'd do all in my power to offer you,
Freedom and love to grow,
The chance to be what you want to be
It's really the best gift I know.
So if you'd accept you from me,
My lifetime of servanthood,
I'd help you do whatever you please,
The way one who loves you should.
